Simon Dean SG 1)12-15 pushups 2)20-25 bodyweight squats 3)15-18 incline pullups 4)15 burpees Do 1) through 4) CONTINOUSLY no break. Lets see how long you will last To be truthful, after 4 mins i feel like sh!t already. But i continued for about 3 mins more. After that took a breather and did for another 2 mins.Did it after gym.
JoBonez SG so do 1-4, rest, 1-4, or 1-4, 1-4 with no rest at all? and how long can we rest? can we do this daily? and if we don't have access to a incline pull up bar, what is a good substitute?
vIn.Warrior SG i dont quite get ur title. u mean training for jogging, stamina? or u mean train pull-ups?
JoBonez SG He means that interval training is superior to jogging, for training stamina and endurace. To make it even more simple, u want to train stamina/endurance, do the program Simon Dean posted in this topic.
Simon Dean SG This is actually very common amongst martial artists.Using intervals for stamina and endurance.
knightlll SG If that friend of mine hears this , he will say how can interval training replaces running for long distance ? You need to run long distance to train endurance you know ? What about those marathon runners ? Do they just did interval training to compete in competitions ? Cant stand him.
galapogos SG Simple. Marathoners/triathletes are idiots. Man was not created to run for long distances. He was created to sprint for short distances. The old tale of the marathon had the messenger dying the moment he finished running the distance. Several triathletes and marathoners have also died(a few in Singapore just this past year). Emerging medical research has also shown long duration cardiovascular work to downsize the heart and make it weaker, so why are you still running long distance?
Simon Dean SG When interval training/HIIT becomes a piece of cake for you, jogging will be child's play. Besides how many people have we heard dieing from marathons and triathlons. Now ask yourselves how many people have died from doing weights and interval training? YES.There have been stories of people who just lift kettlebells and join marathons.I have to ask Jonathan more clearly on this.
knightlll SG I think it is not just my friend , to many pple and myself sometimes, it only seems logical to run a longer distance to train endurance. Perhaps , we are being educated the wrong stuff in schools since the beginning.
